This day marks the end of the 47-year-long history of the Great Britain as a part of the European Union.

Even though it doesn’t directly affect me, I find it a bit sad. I second Boris Akunin’s opinion it’s a regress and a victory of retrogressive thinking.

I’ve been using the electric corkscrew Xiaomi Mijia for more than a year now and I’m pretty happy with it.

It features a rechargeable battery, which means there’s one more gadget to charge. However, I dare say you won’t need to charge it frequently unless you drink wine a crate a day.

In Vino Veritas

One of the things that make me wonder is comparison of prices for alcohol in Holland and Russia, and especially their relationship with the quality.

Alex Exler considers 1000 rubles (€ 25) for a bottle of decent wine in Moscow is a good deal. Here in Holland you would usually buy a collection item for this price, and definitely not Chateau Tour 2006. Even taking into account local alcohol prices are substantially higher than, say, in Germany.
