Invisible wireless charger

When it comes to interior design, I’m a big fan of minimalism — which one can notice from the photo of my workplace (and that’s how it looks in real life and not only on the photo).

Long time I wished to build a wireless Qi phone charger right into my desk so that I could charge my mobile by simply laying it down onto the desktop.

There was an issue though. My desktop is a sheet of 10 mm-thick hardened glass, and common wireless chargers only support charging over a distance up to 8 mm.

Recently I have been able to find a solution to this and make it exactly the way I wanted.

Recently I’ve come across a couple of USB cables of Chinese origin (what else).

Cables that are a real innovation in my view. Carrying just regular USB Type A or Micro USB connectors, they can be plugged in both ways!

Out of curiosity I’ve ordered a couple of USB voltage testers from eBay (there’s plenty of them there).

For your information, a USB voltage and current tester is a device for measuring voltage and current coming from a USB output into a gadget (usually being charged).

How to add an external power supply to a USB hub

I’ve been looking for quite a while for a USB hub that would match the design of my iMac. For those who own an iMac a USB hub is a must-have, since Apple have moved all available ports, including even the headphone one, to its back side. Which is in my opinion a typical example of design gone totally wrong.
