Last weekend, 22-23 October, has been marked by a colossal event in the Belgian Brussels, lead by the Doshu (hereditary head) Moriteru Ueshiba, a grandson of Ōsensei Morihei Ueshiba.

Ghent Light Festival 2015
This year I’ve visited Ghent Light Festival, just as I promised a year ago.
The festival, which is held once every three years, proved to be immensely popular. Streets, hotels, restaurants of this small town could hardly cope with the horde of light-worshippers.

One day we’d been wandering through the Citadelpark (which acquired its name because it’s situated on the site where in the XIX century Citadel of Ghent was) and came across two museums located next to each other in the damp and dusky grove (the weather was anything but good and the sky was growing dark, so I won’t show you the pictures of the park).

Ghent inhabitants are very proud of the fact that their city once (in 2004) won the City-People-Light Award and received three stars from the Michelin guide for its lighting. January next year there will be a regular Light Festival in Ghent (held once in three years). In the meantime I’ll show you the night city as of January 2014.
