Ghent inhabitants are very proud of the fact that their city once (in 2004) won the City-People-Light Award and received three stars from the Michelin guide for its lighting. January next year there will be a regular Light Festival in Ghent (held once in three years). In the meantime I’ll show you the night city as of January 2014.

Our tour guide described Alte, which is 20 km northwards of Albufeira, as “the most picturesque village in Algarve”. To verify this statement one would have to travel around all other Algarvian villages, so let’s take it on trust.
Flower parade
So many things have piled up while I was busy with my website, not sure I’ll be able to handle them.
Let’s take the famous flower parade, or bloemencorso in Dutch. It’s a yearly event, held in late April or early May near Keukenhof, the largest flower garden in the world.
